Shipping & Receiving Clerk (Suffield, CT)

Area contract manufacturer seeks an experienced Shipping & Receiving Clerk on 1st shift. The main responsibilities for this role is to coordinate, verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties: 

Responsibilities and Capabilities Include: 
• Receive in all incoming products and supplies
• Count and inspect receivables to verify accuracy and condition
• Catalog all necessary documentation and file accordingly
• Maintain incoming/outgoing logs and file electronically each month
• Monitor and organize all inventoried material, utilizing first in/first out (FIFO) inventory practices
• Ensure customer lot control is clearly labeled and identified prior to releasing material to the floor
• Record PO receipts within Global Shop

• Package and schedule shipments for pick up, in accordance with customer requirements
• Monitor and maintain an inventory of supplies necessary to ship products
• Verify all shipping documentation is present and in order, prior to packaging

• Scheduling inbound/outbound flow of product and to ensure accuracy of counts
• Ensure production floor has adequate supply of product at all times
• Cooperatively work with other departments, with little or no supervision
• Review Inventory levels weekly to assure no stoppage to production due to lack of supplied components
• Work with Supervisor with outside services for WIP and any adjustments on services
• Verify all shipping documentation for outside service
• Observes safety and security procedures
• Prioritizes and plans shipping and receiving activities

• A minimum of two years experience working in production or manufacturing engineering roles
• Ability to prepare and execute both small and large shipments, both domestically and internationally
• Detail oriented with strong communication skills
• Problem solving skills
• Basic math skills required
